The more information about your location that you can provide, the more accurate we can make the map, but we understand privacy is important to you. Only your city/state information is required, but the more specific you can be about your location(you can even drag and drop the marker on the map), the better the map will be (and the less chance your info will be confused with someone else's). While your measurement and date/time are required, your name (or Capital Weather Gang commenting handle), and any comments are purely optional.

Some tips on measuring your snow:

1. Measurements should be taken as close to precipitation's end as possible snow compacts itself down with time Use a standard yardstick
